If the oxidation doesnt respond to the methods above it may be time to consider a more aggressive solution. Last year I was able to take all oxidation off my 24 year old Skeeter before selling by using the following steps: 600-grit wet dry sandpaper(wet) for several strokes until it feels slicker while sanding, repeat with 1000-grit paper, then 4-5 buffings with 3-M red buffing compound, then polish, then wax. Do small areas at a time working your way around the boat. I did only the top cap as lower parts were not oxidized. It looked great and sold fast. I got this method from a friend who has spent years restoring sail boats. The wet/dry sandpaper sounded too radical to me at first but I decided to trust his experience and it worked out great. Once oxidized though the finish is going to require more frequent care.
