P3 repower

Have 2002 P3 and repowering from Merc 200 EFI (2.5) to Merc 200 Pro XS. Currently running trophy 25 and was thinking about trying Fury 24 or 25. Has anyone made the same switch? Looking for input on set up if anyone has already done this.

We would suggest trying a 24 fury on this set up.

Just wondering, would this recomendation change if the boat were a 97 PII?

I know of one P3 with a 25 Fury that runs GOOD !I dont blame you on the repower, the 02 hull should be the pure VE resins, and id keep it forever ! Youll just have to play with the props.Sure the P2 would run differently than the P3, its a totally different hull, weight, etc,,,,,,and possibly can turn a 25 Fury, but a 97 hull could have lost some “umph”. ALL engines and set-ups are different.
