Hey guys, I have a 2005 P4 / 200 opti. / 25 trophy plus….thinking of switching to a fury…What pitch? and is it worth the coin?
dkbass, I have a 2008 P IV / 200 Opti and switched from the trophy plus to the fury. If you would like to get on plane a little quicker and go a little faster its a good switch. I gained 1-2 seconds on the hole shot and gained 1-2 mph on top end.Youd better watch out when loading the boat though, a little throttle goes a long way with fury and if youre not careful you can damage the bow eye and/or the roller! All in all I would say its a good investment. Its probably the cheapest bolt on speed upgrade youll ever do. Good Fishing!John Gorka
Thanks jgorka, what pitch are you running and rpm?
I switched from a 25 Trophy Plus on my 04 to a 25 Fury. The hole shot is better and its more responsive. I cant really comment on speed though. Since Ive bought it I have either been running a full load with a partner or on SoCal lakes with speed limits. My top speed with the trophy and a full load was 68 and some change. I have touched 70 with a full load on the fury. So that may be an indicator for you.- Chaz
dkbass, Im running a 25 fury. I tried a 24 but got into the rev limiter a lot. I cant say that Ive hit 70 with a full load , but just me with an empty front tank and 75% in the rear tanks Ive hit 70 on occasion. Remember a P IV is not a speed demon, but in every other aspect its the best 19 footer out there! I hope this helps you in making your decision. Also, if youre selling that trophy and its in decent shape it should fetch you between $200 and $250 which brings the price of that fury down even more. john

Im sure with river system current you could add and extra 2mph at a minimum and go up in cooler air temps. Also, 70 mph is very WOT fast with a 195″ boat with a 200 HP motor by comparison to competing foot prints. Kudos to BassCat. Not that it will be anything better beyond your Fury setup Mercs new four blade prop might net an extra 1mph with the load with improved hole shot. Putting that in perspective potentially is impressive because the furys whole shot is already the best prop out today IMO.Thanks for sharing.
Im running a 25 Fury on my PIV. Just installed dual blades,I run a 36v T/M with 4 batteries.Full tank with a good tackle load this past Saturday I ran it @ 71.2 @ 5700 solo. I have had it over 72 a couple of times in the cooler months also running solo.Tried a 24 Fury but as was stated above it was in the limiter to much.As Fly said you wont find another 19 class rig with a 200HP that will run or fish like a PIV,They are simply the best!
Thanks for the replies guys, now all I have to do is to convince the wife than I NEED a new wheel fer the boat. Thanks again.DKBaker
