I have had a ride in a P2. Can someone tell me what they like about both boats
I have an 09 PIV, fishes great, big front deck, 19 foot size is better in the backwaters than my 20 footer was. 70 mph loaded at sea level, rides like a Cadillac, smooth and dry. Its going to be a little slower than the PII, which is a little smaller and lighter. There are some good deals on a PII and at least one PIV over on the for sale page.
The P-2 is quicker and more nimble. The P-4 has more storage and is a little bit larger. P-2s cooler is better, the P-4 has easy access front deck net storage. The P-2 costs less. Both are great 19 foot boats and you really need to look at both to see which one works best for you.
P4 Hands Down
Is the P4 also about $4K over the PII?
I have owned both and each one has good traits. The P4 will outride the P2 hands down no comparison that being said the P4 feels bulky compared to the P2 like a dually truck compared to a car. Im sure some will argue and this is just my opinon. I prefer the P2 layout especially in a daul console model the P2 consoles are not as wide and give more room to pass through.I would take the P2 all around having owned both but I dont fish lakes such as Erie or other lakes were you lose sight of land which a p4 would excel in for a 19 foot boat.
I like the P4 for all the reasons listed above, but every time I talk to someone at a show they try and push me into a Cougar. I feel the P4 would be the perfect boat for me and my family.
Since Ive been in both:The P4 rides and fishes more like a 20 footer. However, its the slowest of all the 19 footers. The P2 is a better looking boat on the trailer in my opinion, doesnt ride as well in rough water, but will run circles around the P4 on the top end. If I were in the market for a P4 I would likely be shopping an Eyra w/ a 200 too. If I was looking for an all around good 19 foot boat, then I would choose the P2 over the P4. To choose one or the over you need to look at both and decide what fits your style. Good luck!
I am coming from a 1995 201 fs Stratos to one of these two boats. One reason why I am going down in size is the dreaded does it fit in the garage on the trailer. 19 foot fits great, 20 with a jack plate, well maybe not.
I came from a Stratos as well. After doing a lot of research I decided on the PIV and I am glad I did. I like the layout of the PIV over the P2 and the Eyra. The PIV is a smaller version of the Puma as far as layout. Plenty of storage and and a large front deck for a 195 boat. The wide beam in the back relates to handles rough water very well and it drafts shallow in skinney water. This boat will run a few mph slower then the P2 but if you fish instead of ride a lot then the speed is not a major factor. The way I see it is you will have to make a lot of long, long, runs in the course or the day for the speed of the boat to become a factor. I have left the dock in the early morning hours in slick water only to return in the late afternoon having to navigate rough water and I was glad to have that PIV under me. This boat will fish much larger then other competitors 19ft. plus boats. Try to fish out of both boats then make your decision. Going with a Bass Cat is going to be a good decision either way.
Lots of good information here. Ive got a new P2 coming down the line in the next few weeks. Looking forward to being able to get over to the factory and pick it up.George

Nope, it is still here locally owned ! And still looks new.
George,You will love your PII. The nice thing about BCB, is they build a boat to serve every need. Personally, I favor the PII for all around use, economy and price. The PIV is a super rig as well. For that matter, all of their boats are top notch. Hope you enjoy your new rig. The owners board is better than any written owners manual, so you will have access to most any question you may have.Best Regards,Carky
Im ready, hope the boat isnt too far out.
