Depends on what boat you have and where you are going to put the black box.
I have done it on a P2 and a sabre ftd. Both boats have the hatch cover under the TM. They have a 1 and 1/4 in hole in the middle of the hatch (used a 1 1/4 in hole saw on the plastic).
I put the black box in the starboard rod locker towards the front, bolted it thru the wall to front storage box.
Ran the Transducer cable up the shaft, then down the TM cable and under the foot pedal, thru the hole in hatch cover across the bow to the black box. Since the lead that goes to the MFD is “2 piece”, they both have a small connector, the other sides have the big network connector. The short cable small connector side fits thru the existing hole in the bow and connects with the longer connector that then hooks up to the black box. I already had the upgraded power cable from the batts to the bus bar under the console, so a short power hookup to the black box was easy.
If you don’t have the hatch cover, it’s an easy install using a 4 in hole saw and small drill for pilot holes for 4 screws.
Its a real clean install.
