I have an 05 Classic nad had the same problem for a while….one thing I did that gave me a better understanding as to what the jack plate did was: in the garage/driveway get the pad of the boat level….using the tounge jack to do this….then get the prop shaft level….as you raise and lower the jack plate watch the gauge to see how it corresponds to the jackplate… Topped out mine is ~1.5″ below the pad…..I can run it this high but only when its slick…else youll risk a blow out.. the other guys are right on with the seat time issue….I was told to always steer slightly leftjust as the chine wlaking starts… Ease into it if you havent driven this fast before….dont rush your self….70 is plenty fast…..lot of things can happen @ that speed and most of them bad… Be safe… GHCpt.Gary Harlan (Harlo) USCG Liscd Fishing Guide Tishomingo, MS Roger Stegalls Professional Guide Service Sponsors: BassCat (of course!), Strike King, Falcon Graphite Rods, Gary Yammamoto Custom Baits
