Tagged: kicker tank
Deciding on whether I want this kicker tank in my order for a new Pantera 2. I am not sure I need 43 gallons capacity where I run and was thinking if I had a 4 battery setup for Lowrance Ghost, its best to have this space available. I woudl love to see a picture of where this tank is and if I need the space. Bass Cat replied to my message on Facebook and said that I have plenty of room – but I would love to hear from a current P2 owner. What do you think – order kicker tank or leave off? Its basically free since I am getting SP package and dealer says no credit if I remove from order.
I don’t know about extra space if needed for a 4 battery setup. But to think ahead, you never know where you may want to travel and wish you had that extra tank!

2021 p2 SP. 24v, 3 batteries total. I haven’t used the kicker tank once yet. Seems without it would be less things to go wrong if you don’t need it, I.e. gas lines, valves, etc… 24v on Lowrance ghost has been plenty, pulls boat very well.
Thanks for the pictures, now I can see where it sits. Leaning towards keeping it since dealer will not give me a credit to have it removed. (Which makes no sense). But, a lot on order makes no sense since I’m not getting credit for using low range graphs instead of hummingbird that come standard. Checking with another dealer on how to properly order the Basscat then I’ll decide. But thanks since now I understand where kicker tank is. I did notice Pantera classic does not come with kicker tank.
Sense or not, we buy X numbers of parts for a package and when you delete our counts get off. Humminbirds are purchased as a part,of the packages also if this is an SP model. Deleting doesn’t get credits as they are purchased on contracts.
Thanks for explaining. I will ask dealer if I can order a base model P2 if that’s possble.
FWIW, I did want the birds either, and was able to upgrade one, then sell the other two immediately that came loose.
Oh so if you get Lowrance graphs they send the hummingbirds loose?

OK, so the boat comes with three units. I upcharged one to a Garmin. My dealer provided instructions to his RSM to not install the other two as well as the TM. So, two birds and the ultrex were shipped loose with the boat.
SP boats are required to have units and have no delete. You can upgrade, though not delete.
With the 4 stroke, it removes the oil tank and gives plenty room for another battery or power pole pumps with the kicker tank installed.

The 10 gallon side tank is nice to have for a few reasons.
1. Big water it is nice to have the extra fuel for those long runs
2. When I am fishing alone I top up the side tank (portside) to balance out the boat. This is noticeable at low speeds and when it is rough .
My advice is to keep a good supply of ethanol fuel stabilizer in your tanks.
Thanks everyone for your feedback and I am sure this question will help others as well as some shopping for a P2.
Well the problem sorted itself out and I was able to find a nice Pantera Classic for sale – I know the differences pros and cons and may order a P2 or Caracal in a few years. But, feeling blessed that I will have the chance to get a new Bass Cat and wanted to jump on the opportunity since supply is low across the country and preferred not to wait for the order (i.e. Spring fishing is possible now as a boater).
One thing I really enjoy is reading about Bass Cats on this forum and Facebook (unofficial pages). ALL dealers I have spoken with for Bass Cat have been amazing as well. I will be traveling to get my boat and even the local dealer told me they would be glad to help me with any future questions. Now, this is how business is handled! I worked with three Bass Cat dealers and all three have been really great.
Thanks again and my conclusion if ordering a P2 is get the extra tank – I think its beneficial and cons are not too concerning with plenty of space as needed in the boat.
