Working on setting up my boats rod locker and didn’t notice until now how the holes for the rods are separated by a space upfront. Anyone have pics on how they use their rod lockers and set it up. Seems to me like their are missing holes for rods up front in the locker. Picture is bad but there seems to be 11 holes up front and 9 in the back. Also space is really deep. Be cool to see how others use this space so I can plan it out best.
Because of tube lengths and front bow taper room, rod butts are not just aligned with front tubes. They are configured to allow front tip room and maximize rear butts. Some even dual use one tube and place two tips in one tube. Then you have the underneath space that allows fitting rods below the organizer to maximize space. Usually the Right hand Two (2) tubes are the longer tubes for longer rods. A probe could verify this.

I took the back rod butt rack out. Much easier to get rods in and out, easier access to the tackle below wo having to pull the rods out, and the front tubes alone will keep the rods from getting tangled up.
My 2020 Classic doesn’t have tubes, just the board with holes in it, is this a mistake?
To answer the OP, I actually use the port box for rod storage. I use the center for tackle trays and worm bags and a couple spare rods/reels.
Another tip if your boat is like mine and you use the full size front seat instead of a butt seat, the rod box lid hits the seat and won’t open all the way. You need a longer or an adjustable pole to raise the seat enough so that the rod box lid will open correctly
Nice – I like how this is setup. I was also thinking of placing some marine carpet on the bottom.
Thanks for all the suggestions – I will post pics once I have mine setup for others to see as well. Need to get some new cases first!
Along the topic of the classic rod locker… how annoyed is everyone with it being full of water every time you take some water over the bow? Or is mine the only one where the water goes straight from the bow to the rod locker……

My centre rod locker also takes a bit of water in a hard rain. My underseat driver storage does as well, but, I have partially remedied that. My Classic is 2019
There has been an issue with some of the new Classics having water sloshed from the bilge to the front of the boat and then into the locker if it wasn’t sealed correctly. Water may not be getting into the locker direct from front of the boat. Water over the front or rain could find it’s way to the bilge as it’s supposed to but then sloshing in from underneath when coming off plane or some other sudden stop. Not the only way it can get in but one way that has been known to happen. I’ve seen a video an owner posted or sent me where it can happens. Would be a dealer or factory repair.
Had the plate off the bow to run some wires for the graph tonight. Noticed the clear/whitish tube that looks like it goes to the cup holder was placed between the rod tubes. So water was being directed that way. Mover the end so it didn’t shoot water into the rod locker hopefully.
