Pantera differences

What are the differences between the three different pantera models? Are the hulls the the same and the only difference is the floor plan?

The Pantera Classic and Pantera II share the same hull and are only floor plan differences. The Pantera II is going to have a slightly wider deck due to it being raised and more storage due to the deck layout and a big cooler. The Pantera IV is a completely different animal. It has a deeper hull and higher gunnels. It is also longer by 4″ and will ride significantly better but not carry the speeds of the other two. It also has a much wider deck due to the hull and top deck differences. The best way to describe the PIV is it is a baby Puma. It will also run with a flatter “attitude”. Cant go wrong with any of those 3 though. Let us know if you have specific questions. Judd Lasiter

I am looking at buying a new or very late model boat. in the bass cat line I understand the 08 puma and cougar have a new hull for 08 that greatly improved the ride (i do not know this, just what i have read and heard) In the Pantera II and Pantera IV when was the last hull redesign? Also I can find several 08 Pumas and Cougars and pick my choice of color. But I can find very few Panteras for sale. Anyone know of a new or late model Pantera II or IV (used must have warrenty left) for sale?

It would be best to find a dealer that has a P2 and P4 so you can compare models side by side. I spent a couple of hours in each before I made my decision on the P4. Both are awesome boats and each have there bonuses. It will come down to your personal prefrence on layout. I remember BCB stating that not many paneteras are on the used market becuase most owners keep them for a long time. I think 2007 was the first year for the new P2. May be hard to find a used one. The P4 has been around since the spring of 2003. I can say from fishing out of both the P4 is a better ride. The P2 is a lot more fun to drive. The P4 has rails and the P2 does not. As Judd stated the P4 has more storage. It is similar to the Puma storage. There is a significant price difference as well. The P4 is several thousand more. You cant go wrong with either. Where are you located? I have access to both models and we could take them for a ride. Yes, most of the promotional boats are 20fters. The market is right for that boat from a promotional standpoint. There are some who dont get a 20fter but most do. The best deal I know of on a PII right now is a 2007 model brand new one that Rockwall Marine has. I think everyone here is giving you good advice. Judd has pointed out 2 excellent choices and I can speak for the PIV (dbasketmans boat) is in excellent shape, it looked brand new when I saw it this past sunday and dbasketman is very honest seller. -Lee
