so here in Louisiana, most of the lake water is 88-90. Seems like the cat just does not want to get out of the hole. Is that normal? Takes about 45 seconds or so to get up to toop speed. I had a 27 P on and had to take it off and put on a 25p.225 Opti on a cougar.Milton
Milton, on a 225 Opti a 25 is too much wheel unless it is a Pro XS no matter time of year. The water is not the factor, it is the air temps mostly. In a Fury we would run a 25 on this application. We dont know what type propeller you have. BCB
I have a 25 Power Tech (right down the road in Shreveport for me). The 25 just tickles the limiter. I like the 27 when I am by myself and light on gas and not in a tourney. I can get into the mid 60s with 5100 on the tach.Last night the air temp was 95 giver or take a few sweat balls. I had half fuel, tanks full and my 110 pound daughter.ThanksMilton
i am down in south la and the 96 degree air with 80% humidity does reak havoc on the motors performance. I usually run a 27 fury but this time of year with 2 people full load of fuel and wells full a 25 works better just lose a little on top. But i have a 250 xs. gunrunner runs a 26 fury on his 225 HO cougar hes down on speed and holeshot as well as everybody else down here. I do think that rig has some more speed hidden in it. gun runs 75 in this heat with a good load and i still get over 80 with a 1 person load with the 27 and 78ish with 2 people and a full load.
