why is p3 only rated for a 200 when it can easily handle 225hp outboard.. is there a way to get coast gaurd rating changed? or basscat to approve a 225 hp rating or the p3…lets hear the opinions…
This has been discussed endlessly for the PIV, bottom line answer was no, do a search here and on BBC for the full replay without having to traumatize us PIV owners again
It is a very involved process, taking into account not only the length and beam and weight. There was a post about the factors that determine the rating. I think the other poster was only trying to point out that the P IV is a little bigger but it didnt get a 225 rating either.I dont think you can get BC to change the CG plate on the P III as it is a discontinued model….you could call the factory on Monday as a follow up if BC doesnt see the topic…fwiw.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

Not to bust a topic, though the search feature would be a nice use item. Many of these topics come up seriously sometimes, when a search would answer it quick from the history of previously discussed topics.
