PIV HDS-8

I am mounting a HDS-8 on the front of my PIV on the large RAM mount 2 1/4″ ball. I would like to here some recommendations on attaching the Ram mount to the bottom of the foot well, should it be reinforced under the foot well, bolted or will screws work?

I have the same set up on my PIV. I used the flat plate base mount in the well, just used #12 x1″ SS screws. Put a dime size circle of silicone on the bottom on each mounting hole and screwed it down.its solid as a rock, been on there for two years in all kinds of bad weather and its still good as the day it was installed.

i have a cougar and i about to do the same thing is the foot well the most optimum location for the graph

I used 1/4″ Molly bolts filled with RTV – Rock Solidjwt

What they said, Ive run my HDS 10 up front and its been fine.
