I have seen the pictures of the new Jag. Since you now have a real big boat. Any chance now of modifying the PIV for a 225? would not be such competition to the others now. They factory, and Rick himself, has consistently taken the position that the Pantera IV will not be a 225 rated boat. We do know they have a slate of projects on new models that are ongoing. Once they finish the final details of the Jaguar, they will begin a few small projects and then tackle another large one. It is our understanding that they are not ever intending on bulding a 225 rated hull. Several of us were adamant in the needs, and Rick shared numbers of engine sales that would get any ones attention on why NOT to build a 225 rated. boat. It seems there are much fewer 225 engines sold overall than years ago, and many of those are on the models that are only max. rated to a 225. The 250 engines in retail have only been in the market a few seasons and they have severely impacted the sales of 225 models. BCB Admin.

surles I had the same thoughts for years- even looked at the USCG formula to see how much the hull would have to be changed once! With the rounding up rules it aint much- But- Here it is for me as a former p4 owner- Lets say we could get a p4 with a 225- Id guess 50K loaded I can get a puma ftd with a 250 lets say for 58K loaded. Im just not sure you could recoup this on resale and you would eliminate a great boat in the 40s new(p4 with 200). Folks absolutely wouldnt be able to resell an underpowered boat that was near a flagship boat price for a guy that wanted to still buy the boat with a 200. Sure a p4 with a 225pro xs or 225 ho would roll but I think a puma with a 250 would run with it fine and I think even less folks would look at a p4 if the pricing were as close as I think it might be. I never understood Ricks answers on this boat until I put the numbers down and looked at it from a price,resale, and market coverage standpoint.Last edited by clownshoes on May 23rd, 2009, 8:50 pm, edited 1 time in total.C.O.D.
