Pardon us, though since no one will put any salt in the wound this off season, we have to fester the recent wound inflicted by the NCAA on our old friends. We really thought that some Prince Fan would have come in here and fired both barrels. Or that perhaps a Bill Dance associate would garnish this topic. Maybe even a Michael Vick opposer would mention the furstrations with the recent difficulties with bound products. Gosh, even a long toothy critter could put a little in the wound for us all. We assume fishing has them all preoccupied in the On season, instead of tuning in during the Off season. Alas, it has all been left to the Hogs, instead of the Dawgs to inflict pain upon this judgement! Folks, things R tough in the world today. Elephants are selling their trunks to keep from starving and may lack sufficient knowledge to survive under the complicated regulations of college athletics. It would appear that the lack of sufficient knowledge has led to an even greater deparity in those challenging programs of the south. Programs where the best often suffer from insufficient access to food. In return they must sell their books to receive funding for nominal items of substance. If your in ALabama this week, . . Its Good to be an Auburn Tiger! Sorry to have to boys! But the rest here will receive the same in about three months from you! From your BCB Brotherhood(s) and of course Hog Fans! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS…………..ET TU BASS CAT??? AND FOR YOUR INFO….IT AINT EVER BEEN GOOD TO BE A TIGER OF ANY KIND.. COULD SOMEONE SEND ME THE PHONE NUMBER TO FORREST WOOD PLEASE?? SINCERELY,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,THE TIDEMAN
The confusion over the sale of books is rampant. Here is the deal. I know, I played there and was on scholarship. Here is the old system. Why the heck they went away from it I will never know. The book store was provided a copy of your semester schedule. They know what books are required for those classes. They pulled your books, bagged them up and put your name on them for pickup. At the end of the semester you returned them. If not you were charged for them. Full Price!!! Funny how I know. I lost a trig book. Cost me $100 New system they were using. Student has a card they use to charge their books on. No limit evidently at the time. They would go into the books store get the books and then give them to their friends. I guess the “friends” were paying them for the books. Here is the kicker. They all had to be returned as well. So at the end of the semester they had to be brought back or the athlete would be charged for them. I guess what was happening is the athletes were renting these books to other students for a fee. That is my understanding. Sounds like a bunch of crap that should have been caught early on. I thought the old system worked well. The bottom line is this will not effect the current and future players. All you other SEC fans who are gloating now will still have to face the azz whippins this fall on the field from the TIDE!!!
The book store stuff is always a pain! I was normally mad two times a year dealing with college. 1. Being when I had to go buy books! 2. When I tried to sell them back to the book store! Yes I was on a full football scholarship (not in SEC), but still just dealing with them made me mad! Bama – I dont want to make you feel bad or nothing (I was going to say feel old but I wont say that ) but I would have LOVED to pay just a 100.00 for a book if I needed it for a class! I had several books in the 300-500 range than when I went to sell them back to the book store I would only get 100-200 back on the book! Boy did it make me made…Than some books they wouldnt even buy back b/c they said they were going to a different book the next year so I wouldnt get anything back, and those books were only a year old! And this wasnt to long ago 2000-2003…I cant amagin what it is like now! The way Bama stated it when he was there, that is the way I would like to see all college handle the books. use them for the semester than return them…If you damage/lose them you buy them! I dont know why they wouldnt go back to that first way… Steve
I cant believe I am getting abused from people making me a boat. Maybe I ordered from the wrong place! Maybe I should have bought from the people a rock throw away or the Genmar or “S” people??? It is NEVER better to be saying “War Chicken” instead of “Roll Tide”. I think the Hogs have had their problems too….”Mustang episode” and coaching to mention a few. Maybe the Razorbacks should go back to the conference with Texas and Oklahoma! NCAA loves to over punish Alabama while USC, Oklahoma and Florida State get nothing done to their schools! Who knows what went on while Shula was there … thanks to goodness we have Nick cleaning things up and getting us back on track. Others are just jealous.
It surprises me that no one had hammered it out earlier. Sam must have been asleep in that recliner. He probably figured that the only professional football team in Louisiana might come up. JK GUYS! NBD, (No Big Deal), the NCAA guidelines are firm on how books can be handled. The meaning of this is we know there are other violations, though we know we can hang this one on you. Thus a lesser that teaches a lesson. And yes I am aware of the regs as I have one son in a D1 program on scholarship. Books are one of the first issues they look for. You cant get them for free and sell or profit from them. You can keep them, if so stipulated, but cant sell or rent them. No doubt the Hogs have had a couple of scrapes as well. Glad Nolan is not in the program and how bout that Danny Ford… No gloating in the SEC guys! Just a little inducement prior to season! As long as the SEC wins we all profit in the conference from it! Go Hogs! Baseball anyone? RickLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on June 12th, 2009, 3:04 pm, edited 1 time in total.
