Pomme de Terre?

Guys, I have to fish a club tournament on Pomme next Sunday and plan to leave Tuesday to check it out. Ive driven past it a hunderd times headed to Tablerock but never seen it. Can you give me an idea where to look for the fish and what they may like? Is it a clear lake? Ive fished the Pomme River on Truman and its usually clear. Any help would be appreciated

Pomme is generally clear up around the dam and stained to dirty in both rivers. This time of year you can still catch em on points and ledges in brush, you also can go up the rivers and throw a little cranckbait or plastic to the laydowns and stumps… The lake is only around 8,000 acres and it fishes small. If your good at river fishing than go up the pomme river and find the shad.Last weekend they were on the flats and were cuaht on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.Also try pitching a small ring worm with a light weight.Dont make the mistake of giving up on the reaction bite if the suns high.If you find a nice sized brush pile or big lay down flip and pitch multiple time,this can get you several bites out of the same cover. I agree on running up the river and would go to around the PP highway bridge and use a 4-5″ rapala minnow or similar around any laydowns and also flip a jig to the same. I grew up fishing those waters in a rowboat and my mom lives about 3 miles from the bridge I mentioned. There is also a good stumpfield about a half mile before the bridge that can be very good this time of year along the channel thru it. My personal best fish (8.4#) came off a big stump along that channel a few years ago.Good Luck!Joe FuerstHouma, La.

Is Pomme still a decent muskie lake? Since I was a kid I always wanted to take a broomstick up there and fish for them things just to day Id done it. Deke[font=&QUOT]Deke[/font]

Go to my dads website: wwwpommemuskieguideservice.comcheck out the pictures. He is a muskie guide and the bite is heating up….. Now till November is the time to go…. May and June is pretty good also they are just a little deeper then.
