Possible problem

I had changed numerous parts,checked and rebuilt pulse fuel pump and still have bogging problem on my 250 pro xs. I had seen where the yellow plastic cap on top of flywheel can end up in the air handling Assembly (plenum) and cause similar problems so I looked in there. Dont know if its supposed to have oil in there,which I wouldnt think so but it has a fair amount sitting at the bottom of the plenum. I would think air from the air compressor should be the only thing going through and to the reeds. If thats the case then guess its coming from the compressor and will have to get another one. Any thought on this.

Spark plugs are new and gap is .042, new 6 month old battery 1000 cranking amps, rebuilt pulse pump,new temp sensor. Im going to take it out this evening after it warms up and take my timing light and when it acts up Im going to put it on each coil and see if one of the new ones I got is bad from factory. Ive had it on diagnostics computer but it always shows to be fine and no codes, this bug is eating me alive.

I had new fuel lines and bulb put on also, new fuel with quickleen in it and injector cleaner, which every tank since I had it has had quickleen put in it. I had disconnected the fuel line the other day from the vapor separator and pumped the bulb to put in glass to look at it and to check flow and couldntt get to pump out until I put my finger on end of hose in a siphoning motion before I could get it coming out, is that normal or does it sound line I got a faulty bulb, it does pump up hard when connected up to Vapor separator and stays fairly hard when running. Also going to go get a pressure tester and check pressure on fuel rack and make sure it is holds 20psi after high pressure pump turns off. I heard it could be the sleeve on top of high pressure pump in vst causing the. Fuel starving symptoms.

If that is 1000 MCA, then that is a bare bones minimum battery just for cranking. If you run pumps and electronics it might not be enough. Before buying a new battery, do you notice if the problem gets worse later in the day?Did you notice any chipped reeds while looking for the yellow cap?06Last edited by himmelrr on August 11th, 2014, 4:10 pm, edited 1 time in total.

HAVE YOU LOST ANY RPM AT WOT ? IF NOT THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR IS NOT PICKING UP WHEN YOU TAKE OFF.

Had this happen to me a few years ago on a previous boat. Check the fuel line and make sure it is not crimped or in a bind of any sort. I had had a routine service done and the first time I took it out it would start and idle fine but put it in gear and give it gas and it would bog down. It would never shut down but it would bog down every time. Come to find out a “certified” Yamaha mechanic had caught the fuel line in a zip tie and didnt notice. Cut the zip tie and it ran great…worth a shot.2017 Eyra / 250 Merc Pro XS
