As many of you know, I am currently serving as a mobilized reserve Judge Advocate in Baghdad. I am glad to report I will be returning to Fayetteville next month! My 07 Puma with a 250xs has been in climate controlled storage with a friend in Harrison since I left last November. I did all of the pre-storage stuff recommended by Mercury prior to storing my rig. My question is, do you all think I need to do anything special to my rig when I pull it out of storage and put it on the lake for the first time? I would appreciate your thoughts or any advice you may have. Thanks. PETjr
Yeah, run by a station and fill it up with some good fresh gas and go fishing ! Tell your buddy to make sure the batteries are hot, tires are aired up, and oil tank is filled and go enjoy the fall weather in Arkansas. Welcome home, D.
Least I could do for what you guys do for us……email it to me if you want ]… Welcome home and I hope you get some monsters while you are out on the water……
Thanks for the offer, Mark, but that is not at all necessary. I was just hoping for some thoughts on pulling the Puma and Merc out of storage after so long. After my 04 tour, I pulled my old rig and Merc 175 EFI out and just fired her up and went back to fishing with no issues. I hope I am as lucky this time
Glad to see you have your sights set on getting back to the states and doing some fishing….You guys and gals over there deserve every bit of the R&R you can get when the chance arrives. Thanks again for all you do for our country and freedoms……
PETjr, You get down this way gimme a shout, well hit the river and see if anything lives there, or just throw a couple back. And another Thank You for your service ! D.
If you prepped it and the batteries have bene maintained, you should be fine. We expect you to need new batteries soon, and also treat the fuel tanks again. That is not an overly excessive time and we have seen them run with nothing done before ethanol. Though since you could have VST (fuel pump) troubles with ethanol from the last 18 months or so. Rejuvenate that fuel as soon as you can and you will be better off. BCB
