I was just wondering ,how many Potomac River Basscatters do we have out there. I usually fish from DC -south to -the Potomac Creek area and plan to fish the LAPR tournaments out of Leesylvania State Park this season , launch out of Pohick on practice and fun days . 2002 Jaguar, 250 XB ,white hull-black bolt w/red pins

I fish potomac quite a lot. Launch out of mattawoman. Cabin fever has struck so I decided to get the old kitty ready to fish. Shes an old “95 pantera but she looks like it just came off the show room floor.

I know all about that “cabin fever” , I just spent 2 hours detailing my batteries, pumps,fuel tanks and bilge this morning.Chompin at the bit to get back on the water , hope to see you out there.

I fish the lower potomac a good bit ,I launch out of several places Marshall hall ,Belle Haven ,Mattawoman . just depends on what section of the river I want to fish . Some times will go out of Gravely Point right next to Reagan International Airport .I have A 97 Pantera II with 98 200 hp mercury Dark Green with gold bolt .Give me a shout if you see me on the water . Dinkslayer, sure will give you a shout out there.I dont have a whole lot of experience north of the Spoils but I plan to do some prospecting up there.I have also heard that you need a DC license to fish above the Spoils and a certificate from a boater safety course,do you know if this is true?

Kbg, Blue plains is a good winter spot they have a warm water discharge up there .just be very careful alot of hidden debris sunken barges and fox ferry have taken many of lower units .first time you go up do it at low tide you will be amazed at all the stuff sticking out of the water just be careful . Just run tight to the right bank, going up at Fox Ferry. You have to be careful up there.

Thanks for all the info,I do want to get more familiar with DC so I can have a smallmouth backup plan.
