power pole plates

Anyone have info about the correct plates used to mount power poles to 4″ manual slidemaster and 200 Hpdi on 2008 pantera II? Power pole site (and their tech support- Hydrilla gear called with me on phone because he correctly suspected they might not work) says the 2 – 2 plates will work but they dont clear the boat. BTW call hydrilla gear for poles. Great to deal with.

Quick search came up with using a 7″ rise -5″ setback. Does that sound right? Also, I see where BCB recommends using some sort of bracket to mount the pumps. I guess they used to sell but dont now? Im planning on getting two so seat pedestal may not be best option. Any advice?

So pps tech support gave answer that wouldnt fit? Surprised. I would go with whatever Rich said from hydrilla in that situation and go from there. BCB wont know because they didnt do that many poles then. As for brackets- lotsa options. I have an aluminum plate that holds both that is secured on the lip of the bilge compartment opening that nicely has a bumper against the seat pedestal and oil reservoir away from the cap. I like mine cause I can undo two screws and everything comes out at once. However mine is in the way of bilge pump or battery removal for 3/4 of my batteries. Bcb puts L shaped mounts on back walls of rear boxes in the bilge. Those r nice cause they r out of the way for bilge pumps. Can be hard to get to that spot depending on gas tank config. The new dual bracket style in a single arm should be very close. We have one and we are using it for Verado 3″ plates and it should work fine, Power Pole should have the standard plate number we are using. Your plate should be a 6″ plate not a 4″ also. Though if its used there are some 3″ versions sold new for garage clearance.

Quick measure shows BCB is right. It is a 6″ slidemaster, not 4″. Yeah, Rich said he just worked with guy that had Basscat and the PP recommended mounting plates did not work, which is what prompted him calling PP. PP claimed they would work but they hit the sponses (dont know if using correct terminology). It also looks like they would be way to close to the motor and would hit cowling when turning. In addition, it appears that the angle of the transom would make the poles not sit at all level with the current plates. Will I need wedges also to help account for this? Am I the only person to ever put poles on a PII?:)BCB…a little confused by response. So is this mount a single piece that spans jackplate and allows for mounting of two poles or is it two pieces just like the ones I have in hand? Guess I could contact power pole and ask for mount for 3″ verdo plate on any basscat model?

One more thing…Ive got plenty of room on port side of bilge where the single starting battery is mounted. Should I not mount pumps there? Seems like logical spot but read posts that said may not be good idea?

I just purchased 2 poles and brackets for my 2002 Pantera 3 from Rich at Hydrilla Gear. Mounted right up with no concerns. 6″ slidemaster Jackplate.

Yeah my P3 has way more clearance with those same brackets. Difference in P3 design to newer P2 design.
