I took a spare Lowrance power / data cable I got from a friend and wired it to a 12v / 3.3 amp computer laptop power supply. I had to use a voltmeter to identify + / – wires on the power supply before connecting with butt connectors and heat shrink wrap.Works like a charm on an HDS-7 and 8. Black wire wwhite strip is normally + on laptop power supplies, but that should be verified before powering up a unit with it. Heres some pics of what I put together with specs off the power supply..
