What do you guys think, kicking around the idea of adding an 8 Power Pole or two on my Sabre. It could really come in handy for me at a couple lakes I like to fish. Think there is room in the battery compartment to mount two pumps? I think so, but I have never seen the pumps in person. Can I get the hydraulic lines through the main motor line? Id rather not drill on my boat. Looking for any advise/experience anyone wants to share. I was looking to purchase from either the BBC sponsor or the large online Tackle web site but I also wanted to ask if there is anyone in the BCB family I should look to support? Not sure who all is selling these things now…At first I wanted a Blade or Signature Series but after looking online at the new 2012 Sportsman II, I dont see why to spend the extra money?Looks to me like the Sportsman II does everything that the Blade does.
I ran my line for my 1 power pole thru the motor rigging tube easily, the line is thin. Im sure youll have room at leat 1 pump in the back, Im not sure of the size of the new pumps, but Im sure theyre the same or smaller than last years. Rich at Hydrilla Gear.com is the guy for them and a sponsor over at BBC. Mike
Thanks Mike.Rich does seem to be the authority, I just didnt know if it was etiquette to mention it on the BCB board, or if we had a BCB Family Member to support…How do you feel about having one pole? I do have and use (kids) the swin ladder, forgot to mention that.
Cajuncatter has a power pole on his Sabre. He should see this soon and respond.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
I just added a Power Pole to my Sabre a few weeks ago. I went with the Sportsman II and have been thrilled with it. The installation was simple and only took a few hours to complete. I mounted the pump to the seat post using a muffler clamp as BCB recommends. I will be adding a second unit in the near future. Adding the second pump to the bilge area will be a bit of a challenge but Ill find a way. I may relocate the battery charger to span the sump and put the second pump in that area.
Getting one installed on my new Sabre. I wanted 2 of em but at almost 2k a pop, I couldnt justify it.
i want to see some pictures of a Sabre with power poles
The Sportsman series should do everything you would need. That is if you really think ou will use them and justify you expenditure.

Wireless installation and remote switch. Brushless motor – just like the Pro and Blade series. Im pretty sure it will do every thing that I need it to. Alabama Chris, do you feel that two is needed? I know our Sabre hulls arent as heavy as the other boats and tend to drift around a bit more. It will be worth it to me. I cant go to one of my favorite spots alone (or with my son) because of the ramp, you cant pull the boat up to tie off and get out, to shallow. If you leave it back and tie off and have any breeze at all, youre in the rocks. Ive almost put it in the rocks a couple times sitting in it… So unless I have an adult with me, I dont go here. If I had a pole (or two) I could pull the nose up to the end of the dock, tie off and power pole down.
