I got an extra rod strap and one of the measuring boarding to install in my new p2. Should I pre-drill the holes for the measuring board bracket and the ones through the carpet for the rod strap hardware??? Thanks! Ben

pre-drill as in drilling a pilot hole before installing a screw? Absolutely. Fiberglass will chip like crazy if you dont. I drill pilot holes for most any screw application myself, whether it be wood, plastic, metal or resin-based materials.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

I figured so on the bare glass, but what about through the carpet for the rod strap? Its a bit harder to find the hole after you drill it in the carpet.

With a very small bit only for a starter hole pilot. Not a similar size on carpeted areas and hand tighten the screws, no power bits. Gelled surfaces need the standard bits that are shank sizes and inside the threads.

Thanks! Got her done. Put the measuring board under the console like they mount them at the factory. Its perfect there. Out of the way, yet handy.

Just took pics tonight. Ill post them in a little while. Im pretty happy with it now.
