Gentlemen and ladies: I have seen this mentioned before in other posts. How do you expect us to consider something that has no price? I just saw a post that said they saw the price on another site. How come its okay to post on other sites but not here? I dont think you would consider a vehicle if you didnt know the cost. I have seen “text me or call a number”. I think most people would not call. They are trying to see if something is in their budget or maybe they might fudge their budget for a good price if its mentioned. Ive seen where its not protocol to give prices on certain boats. Well if its a used boat they need to change that protocol. Whats people trying to hide? Enough said.
I agree. i dont personally give a rats butt if the person is pro staff and got a hell of a deal. Post what you want for it and let the buyer decide if its worth it. It isnt fooling anyone, and if i dont know what you paid for it to begin with then i can only judge whether or not I think its a good deal for me. I dont care if you make 10K on the deal or lose 2K. If i feel the boat is worth it I would call, but I will not call someone to waste their time or mine because they wont post a price. Post a Price, its either firm or negotiable. I know why they do it but thats for another day. Now if you want, call the individual ask them their price and then post it under their post, they dont break “rules” and the price is now listed.
Swear to goodness I saw a dead horse in here…lets try this another wayFree country right?Free to handle posts whichever they want right?C.O.D. Jr. III
I guess you are right. Free not to consider or buy. If thats what the guys want. It just seemed unique that a person can reference you to another site for price but cant put it here?
Its not that they cant put it on here, its their choice. I do agree with you guys, I like knowing the price. When theres no price listed basically I look at it as hes not really ready to sell, I get the impression that theyre just putting feelers out to see what kind of action they get. Someone whos eager to sell a boat post the price. I just assume if no price, theyre wanting more then it is worth. I know thats not always the case but thats how I look at it.
If the boat is right and you are really in the market, is it too much trouble to send a quick text message? Justa observation
Most folks already know what the late model boats are worth before they even open up the link………………generally within 5%. Contact the seller, inquire about pricing, and then negotiate the percentages if the rig is what you are looking for. Some sellers do not have the discretion to list pricing of the boats, but we should all be thankful that we have a place to shop for used rigs on a website that is trying to sell new ones.
Please inform us. Is this because they get a boat from Basscat and theres some unofficial agreement to not display price. What I dont understand is Basscat does not display a MRSP that I am aware of. So I cant see a potential conflict of used price versus new price. We have NADA. However, you have to enter data per that boat and there is really no way like a vehicle ( miles ) to adjust that. I know they have low, retail type price. But these can vary quite a bit. i wish some one would let us know all the issues with price listing. I would think that calling and texts would be much more with possible non serious buyers if price is not listed. A reasonable ( I say that tongue and cheek) would look at a price and say …..kind of out of my price range….wont bother them. I welcome comments.

More simple today than it was even 5 years ago or so. If you see a boat that doesnt have a price listed, and you have interest in that particular boat, then text or email. If the price is higher than what you want to pay, make an offer if youre really interested. The seller can either say yes or no. Period! Same goes for a brand new boat at a dealership. The dealership gives you a price, you counter, and its either yes or no. You cant use NADA to a “T” for most as it doesnt account for all the electronics, power poles, jackplates, and other options that you can put on one.You can use NADA for a base price, but unless you already know the market, then the base price can be useless. Using NADA doesnt always account for the additional equipment added. For instance, there is a range between $300 and $3000 on one fishfinder alone. You have to determine what all the “add on” equipment is and what the value of those are to you. There are also difference in prices between regions of the country. Theres a difference between Arkansas prices and California prices. MSRP on anything isWORTHLESS!! So why bother. If youre in the market, youve looked enough, and youve reached out for used prices from private sellers and new prices from dealers, then you know what is and what isnt in your price range. Its as simple as that.Lastly all boats are sold through dealerships. You cant buy directly from Bass Cat so you can put that to rest.So which boat/s do you have interest in? Im sure someone here with knowledge of the market can tell you the approximate value.
Thank you Mr. Addison for that information. Moose
