Well I have to say….I think they have something here. But we all knew it. Keep in mind Im coming out of an 2003 Cougar FTD. I put everything I had in the cougar in the Caracal and let me tell you thats allot. When your wife says” you already have one of those” believe her, I found stuff in that boat that I didnt even know I had. Storage is more than sufficient. The Caracal has a little different view from the drivers seat because of the front deck you can land a helicopter on. The handling response is better than a performance automobile at just about any speed. The ride is like a big water boat ride even at 70 mph. I didnt try to go for top speed do to the fact I only have a few hours on it. The stability of the boat when fishing is better than my old Cougar. I tried to hit as many wakes as possible to try and get wet but I never got wet. The lay out of the Caracal is something Ill have to get used too. (just change old habits) As for the Mercury, this is the first one Ive ever owned, so far it is pretty impressive. Can tell the fuel consumption yet due to the break in but I know my mileage has definitely increased.Ill end here with and update if necessary later. Have a good week. Dont forget to go to the Bass Cat store and get some Pro Tec! Pro-Tec Productswww.protecproducts.com

Ive not stepped foot in mine yet, but getting close. Had a small issue, got that fixed and now another little thing to adjust a bit before break-in. Tomorrow it will be run and set up.One thing I have already noticed, and witnessed on my rig being run by someone who knows how to drive, is that with the lift these boats have with their beam it tends to set down pretty steep if you come off plane quickly. You need to be ready for this until you get used to it, I think it could bow hook easily in the right conditions. I noticed this on the two that we ran at Norfork a few weeks ago also.I also went and registered my Caracal today, Dang, that hurt paying the sales tax, on top of all the goodies I had put on mine. Mine has a HDS12 Touch in the console, and a HDS9 up front. A full wind screen looks good on it I think, and the Hamby will protect the hull. Group 31 batteries in the bilge, along with two 10 gallon “kicker” gas tanks and the Genius battery charger. The Rogue wheels look really good on this boat, and the white letter tire upgrade helps there, too. I went with the MK 80 trolling motor, and all else is standard on the Caracal. This is not an inexpensive “package” boat, it is as premium as you can get, and costs to prove it. The Jaguar would be the next step in class, imho.I got the 12″ unit because I used one last month and it is awesome, period. The touch aspect of the Lowrance is incredible and accurate, so I will be marking lots of interesting places. I now know how Ive been getting my butt kicked by some of these guys that are good electronically. Like Joe, I will be updating you all as I get use to the boat, and I also believe the Caracal is gonna be the real deal in the coming years, mostly its size, ability to maneuver, and stability. I cant wait to get her in some real water either ! I know shes gonna love it !
Yeah yeah yeah. Will one of you two put your foot in it And tell us what it will do?!?! Last edited by High Cotton on December 3rd, 2014, 1:44 am, edited 1 time in total.
Yeah. Put.your foot in it and.let it eat. The heavy ones ran mid 70s at the dealer meeting and the owner of one of those dealer mtg boats had a little.prop.tune and is running 77. So there you go.joe and doug. Someting for you to shoot for.
I have a Croxton 25 Fury prop Ill be running on it as soon as I get it broken in good. I think the numbers will be pretty good for a 225. As for the pictures I do have a plan for that but we ALL have to get together. dbasketman, I was little concerned about the bow hook at first, but there is allot more flotation in the front of this boat and I believe that helps. I tried to put it thru wakes and waves and couldnt get it to hook. I could be wrong but I think the thought may have crossed Ricks mind during the development of this rig. I meant to say it feels like it could,,,, and Im sure a driver can do spinouts in this thing. It just seems to drop off pad differently than Im used to. Ill adjust !
dbasketman,I ordered the same graphs as you did.. so I am looking forward to seeing things in HD>. LOLI have the SHO coming on mine though.. I think it will be coming with 26P Yamaha prop on it.. so that should work well for me and the lakes here in Texas.Waiting is the hardest part.. aint there a Tom Petty Song about that??? HAHAHAMo
Im testing the 26p ProMax to see how it does on this hull. Ill know in a couple days, but the lift, holy cow!
