Pro XS vs SHO on a Puma FTD

First Ill say that I like my Pro XS 250. But Im curious if the SHO 250 has a better holeshot in most cases on the Puma FTD? From what I hear, the Merc has a touch more on top end but I feel the Four stroke will have more low end torque to get on pad. Just curious and would like to hear your thoughts.

Ive never driven the SHO. With that said I followed Ike around Pickwick when the Elites were there a few years ago. Both of us 250 I was very lightly loaded and Im sure he was heavy. The SHO was noticeably better.

Thanks HC. I figured their would be a difference. Ive been in a couple boats (not Cats) with SHOs and they seemed stout.

I have a Puma with a Pro xs and I rode with Ike on LSC… Its hard to make a comparison without all things being equal but his boat jumped on plane well and seemed plenty fast..

The Cat hulls Ive seen with the SHO did not seem to give up anything on the top end to the Merc. Especially if propped correctly.

I am sure the SHO is a Good motor but I Bleed Black. Give me a Merc anytime! I get all the quiet I want with my trolling motor. LOL!!Dan

I have the SHO 250 on a 2014 Puma FTD and love it. The hole shot is very fast and has great top end the Merc may have a little more but not much in my opinion.

Just one other thing to think about…..Im not certain if Ike is running lithium batteries or not. That would make quite a difference as well. Quite a few of the Elite guys are running lithium and wed never know because its not a major sponsor.
