Prop and set up help…

I posted this on the BBC (Bass Cat section) as well.Okay folks here is my situation… As most of you know I have a 2006 Classic with 200 Optimax. Im turning a 25 Trophy and Im hitting the rev limiter with more throttle to go. I average about 69-70 before hitting the limiter at 1/4 trim (maybe a hair less than a 1/4). What prop do I need instead? My goal here isnt necessarily to get faster, but I would like to put the hammer all the way down and hit the sweet spot with the trim without hitting the limiter every time. Do I need a bigger wheel? Like say a 26 Tempest or 26 Fury? Or do I need to stick to the same size 25, but just go to a three blade? Thank you in advance as always.My CatI Am Second

Jake, either one of those 26 will do the job. The fury is a better all around prop. If you load heavy a 25 fury may be best when it gets hot.

I dont necessarily carry a ton of equipment, but Im all there if you know what Im saying… I could miss a meal or two. How will a 25 Fury do on a light load and cold out? Do you think I would still hit the limiter?My CatI Am Second

A Fury actually pulls a little mire pitch than marked. So a 25 is not quite a 26, though more like a 25 1/2.

On my boat a 25 fury went 74.4 in the limiter with a light load. Same load and conditions except two people instead of one my 26 tempest went 75.6 in the limiter, and a 26 fury went 75.7 no limiter.

We would suggest either a 24 or 25 Fury for most to get the hole shot they prefer.

Right now I run a 26 tempest at 73 tourney loaded with 2 people. My next purchase will probably be a 25 fury for tournament fishing in the summer. I do run a P II, same hull but yours is a little lighter. The fury will help the boat turn without having to trim down so much, with the tempest the boat wants to skip some when making a sharp turn. The tempest has a ton of lift but the fury has a ton of bite and handles more like a 4 blade.
