Prop for a caracal

I have a 1985 Caracal that has been upgraded with a 2007 Mercury Optimax 115. I currently have a 19 pitch SS Prop that will run the boat about 45-48mph. However, i am unable to run WOT because i am running way to high of RPMs. The motor is only suppose to run at max rpms of 5750 and i reach that with quite a bit of throttle left. Any suggestions? thanks,chase

We would think with the gear ratio and the performance for hole shot you would need a 20 to 21″ propeller.

Maybe even try a 22″ prop. We are running a 25″ laser 3 blade fixed hub and a 25″ trophy plus 4 blade. I am also running a 150 mariner magnum on the boat too so… just by judging, i would go between a 20 and a 22″ prop.Dan Yonan. ———————————————————

thanks for the info. I think i for sure need to move a few sizes up. I would like it to run mid 50s at least.

you should be able to get there. You are just going to have to play around with it until you get the right prop.Dan Yonan. ———————————————————
