prop for sabre ftd

when a received my it was mounted with a 25 tempest plus , i dint have the chance to go on the water with it so cannot tell how it run but is seem little big for a sabre ftd with a 175 pro xs , what do you think about that set up!thanks!

the 25 tempest 25fury is the perfect prop 24 makes the motor run to much rpm the 26 to low rps run the jack plate even or 1/2 in. below if you run the jack plate to high you will lose water presure when turning

Marty,I have a 25 Fury on a 175 pro and the hole shot is excellent. Im still learning to drive so I have not gone past 63.

Marty,I think JohnM posted on here a bunch of different wheels that he has run on his Sabre FTD 175 Pro.I couldnt find his post. I think the best all around prop he ran was a 24 Fury. He will update if I am wrong.

Just like you, my Sabre FTD w/ 175 Pro XS came with a 25 Tempest. It was not the right prop for my load… I run a fairly heavy load. After trying a 24 Tempest, 25 Tempest, 24 Trophy, 24 Trophy Plus, 25 Trophy Plus, 24 Fury and 25 Fury….I finally settled on a 24 Fury. For my load, and living in Texas, this prop has the best 4 season all around performance. Great hole shot, Max RPMS close to 5800 – 5900, and top end is 67 to 68 with a 2 person, full load…

well i will put a few hours with the tempest and then if its not concluant , i will get a 24 fury! Thanks all for your input!

Just dont try to run a prop to small cause i did one time and ended up blowing my motor when i was in my younger boating years , costly lesson learned.Sorry to change the subject but heard through the grapevine you will be able to take your Triton to a Ranger dealer and get the same work done on it within the 2 weeks or by thursday, looks like somebody wants to own most of the boating industry when it comes to fishing boats.Wander if Earl will be a part of this also …… just saying

Hey Sabre Freaks the 24 Fury is the same as a 25 Tempest in relation to RPMs, or atleast it should. If your Pro XS is not pushing that prop unfortunately their could be something wrong, Talk to John M and Flyswatter, both have documented alot of Set Up advice. You should be able to get 68mph loaded heavy with that boat and load. Brannon P.S. a 150 Etec will pull a 24 Fury/25 Tempest right to 6250rpms!!!!!! Just kiddin Merc Mafia members…..
