I know of several of these here in my area. Those with the Optimax are running 24 Temptest props and those with the 2.5 liter efi are running 23 temptest props. The P-3 is a wonderfull boat but a little slower out of the hole than some others. Though those same characteristics are what make it such a great rough water 19 footer. A Trophy prop just doesnt quite act right on this rig for whatever reason. Hope this helps. Chris Coupel Paulina, la.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
I would recommend calling Mercury since Trophy props are made by them. I know I have called Power Tech directly with questions about props they made, and they can run a serial number and tell you when it was made, what pitch, etc. and I am sure Mercury can do the same thing. Other folks may know what the numbers mean as well but I would be certain that Mercury could (and their probably not too busy this time of year). Good Luck.
All Trophy props are right hand rotation and all are the same diameter. i wouldnt worry too much about the designation on the end. If its a Trophy Plus then it comes with a PVS system and a removable hub. If you feel that youre getting the run around, then have the guy take some photos of the prop. The model number etc can be found on the box, on the hub of the prop, and on the inside of the prop itself at the throat. Tell me where youre buying a new Trophy prop new for less than 200 and Ill solve your problem!
Brian,Before you pay $200 for a prop, email me at billspence@yahoo.com.BillBill Spence St. Albans, VT billspence@yahoo.com http://www.twinstatebassin.com Bass Cat Boats http://www.basscat.com Vexilar Marine Electronics http://www.vexilar.com
I have seen the pictures and have done business with the guy before. The numbers/info he gave me is as listed in the post and taken right off the prop neck. It is an older model and the numbers are the same as what I have (2006 or 07 probably) except for those last three letters/numbers. Thank you.
The last three numbers may be a date code.
It should be fine if your looking for that wheel. The propellers have little difference after the PVS systems were put on those hubs. BCB
Thanks everyone, appreciate the quick response.
Is your current prop a trophy “plus” or just a trophy? I thought that the older A47 props didnt have the removable plugs and were made from a thinner (faster) but more brittle steel
Trophy plus and yes it has the vent plugs. All four have the medium size hole plug. The extra 27P I have Trophy Plus also has vents though I pulled them out to play with on my 26. Ive decided to go with a Fury but havent decided on the 25 or 26 yet. Ill keep my 26 as back up and sell the 27. BT in Maine, I sent you a PM.If anyone is interested in the 26P I asked about above, it is on eBay for sale by Brodyonthelake who Ive done business with before. He said it is on consignment from Jason Niggermyer (spelling?). I believe Jason went to the SHO this year from Merc. Last I checked no bids and start bid is $175. Looks like a nice prop.
