Guys, I have recently traded for a 24 pitch Trophy Plus. I have been wanting to try one for a while. Current prop is a 23 Tempest Plus. Engine is a 150ProXS. I really have a sweet spot on the plate that I can run wot with no chine walk, 62.5-63 mph by myself and about 61 with 2 people and tournament load. I have hit 64.9 this past Jan (light load). I just wanted to try the 4 blade 24 pitch prop. Is there anything I should do in trying the Trophy Plus (cav ring, etc.)? Should the plate be adjusted either way? Thanks in advance for info.

give it a spin, we think you will like it. Adjustments are all determined from the top end and hole shot. Get the height where it should be on maximum top end, and then start opening or closing exhaust holes to gain the desired hole shot.

I have a 24P Trophy A40 that I run on my Sabre. Get ready for a totally different driving experience. It doesnt run the same as the Tempest. 4 blade will give more stern lift and the hull will run “cleaner” with less bow lift. Compared to the Tempest its like the boat has full time 4-wheel drive. I tell folks the Sabre is like a go cart – with the 4 blade, you changed to soft grippy tires. The steering is much much better at speed. It will be a “bit” slower running light – but, will carry a load a lot better than the Tempest. For most of your running it is going to be faster.Difference from mine is that yours is a “plus”. As a rule – youd run 1″ lower pitch in a Trophy Plus than a Tempest Plus. RPMs may be an issue with the prop.
