Can anyone help me with some suggestions for a prop on a 2006 Cougar FTD DC w/225 Yamaha HPDI? Ive seen plenty of suggestions on the Mercs but not much on Yamahas. I am currently running a 25 Pitch Trophy but I am getting way too much lift when trimming out. Hole shot though is pretty good when not fully loaded. Top end is around 73 GPS but I think I could squeeze a little more out of it if I didnt have so much lift. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a 225HPDI on my 06 Puma. I ran a 27m, 27t1, 27 Tempest and 26 Trophy. I ended up liking the 26 Trophy the best but it wasnt the fastest…the 27m was the fastest prop with the rest being close behind. Judd Lasiter

if that tempest is giving you too much bow lift, you may wanna try a 4 blade trophy. or you can raise your engine some, that will help also, but you may end up needing a prop with more pitch. if thats the case your boat will be faster. just my opinion. steve

Danny – 27 Tempest was just a little slower than the 27m but handled very similarly. Giants – The 25m is a Yamaha prop the 25 Tempest is completely different. Sorry if I confused you. JL
