Hi, Just picked up my new 2019 Cougar with the new Merc 4 stroke. It has a 24 Fury on it and seems a bit small, anyone running one yet with a 25 or 26. Boat has 2 poles and a 4 battery setup. Lots of ice here so it will be a while to put it on the lake for a run. Thanks in advance for your input. Joe Riley

No, that is the suggested wheel as the engine turns more RPM’s.

From what I’ve heard everyone is running 24s. The one I test drove had a 24.

That 24 P Fury 3 is the best prop I’ve found for your set up.. I tried a 25p Fury and it didn’t perform near as well overall as the 24.. You need to remember your going to be able to spin more RPM’s (6200) with that new beast and your going to love it!!

I run a 08 cougar that i just repowered with the new v8, Bass cat recommends the 24 but I run with a heavier load then normal and went with a 25 fury and I’m still seeing full rpms, and 83-84mph

With these newer engines prop them for the best top end . Running a prop that gives the best top end numbers will always be better at fuel mileage . Hole shot problems should be a thing of the past . I think hunterjordo has his dialed in . 83 84 is getting it done .

I run a larger pitched prop and have seen very good results. More top end speed and better hole shot going back the last 3 or 4 years. 89.5-81 loaded no water in live wells 40 gallons fuel. However, A 24 is what most people will need.

Decisions, Decsions , I really like the speed but don’t want to have a poor hole shot. Guess I will just have to run the 24 and 25 and see! My last Cougar with the 250 XS I ran a 26 Fury and struggled I bit out of the hole but was fast. Hoping the new motor has a better hole shot. Thanks everyone for their input. When it warms up I’m sure more info will surface.. I wonder what the wind chill is at 20 or so degrees and 81 mph. Ha.
