My dads early 90s mariner broke the prop washer in 4 places. He thought the lower unit went out, luckily it locked up at idle so no damage appears to be done. Any ideas on what would cause this? Prop looks fine
There are way too many variables to know at this point on any engine. We dont know the brand, propeller, thrust washer comparison and more.
