Ok, Ok, I know there are a million threads on props that I could search (and I have looked at some) but I couldnt find quite what i was looking for.The 06 Puma I bought last spring came with a five-blade prop, as it was used a fair amount on big water. It does handle really nicely and hops up on plane great, but I know that Im losing a fair amount off the top end. In addition to the 225 Pro XS, I have a single Power Pole, and usually have 8-10 rods and the usual assortment of tackle in the boat along with my 230-lb, trying-to-lose-some-weight frame. The Hi-Five got dinged pretty good while loading the boat at a shallow ramp this past weekend and needs some work. Im thinking about getting a 3-blade prop to run, and just keeping the 5-blade as a spare once its repaired.So. What do I need to know/consider when selecting a prop? I know aaaaaaabsolutely nothing about props, so this will be good learning for me. If someone has a link to a good thread explaining prop basics, Ill be happy to do some reading as well. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge with this bass boat noob
