What kind of devices are people using to protect their boat from rocks and other road debris while hualing?

I have seen bras, bow screens, hitch mounted screens, and mud flaps. I can see good and bad with each one. I want to hear from people that have used one or more of these. I need to know the good and bad and more importantly did it really work.

I have had several new boats, but not until I got my new 2019 did I decide to try a set of Rock Tamer mud flaps on my truck to try to prevent chipping of the trailer and front of the boat from the road. Now with two seasons of trailering, they have my endorsement. There are significantly fewer chips than on any other new boat and trailer that I have not protected after the same time frame. I just don’t care for their appearance, but will live with that.

How are they to put on or take off when you do not want them on the truck?

Easiest way is to leave them attached to the drawbar and then remove the drawbar. I never remove it though simply because in the winter I tow my snowmobile trailer also and the tamers help with the snow and slush.

I also endorse the Rock Tamers, I use them in Florida to go to Stick Marsh, Kenansville Lake and Headwaters, keeps the dust off the cover.

I have a dually. Anyone using the wide dually mud flaps? Do they work as good as rock tamers? I like the looks of the dually flaps better than the tamers
