Topic: Puma FTD storage?

Does any one know if you have to use a specific brand (kind) of tackle tray to fit in the Rear (front deck) storage box on the Puma FTDs? My Plano 3700s wont fit on the drivers side without angling them and are really tight on the passenger side. Most of mine are a few years old but I dont know if the actual size has changed in recent years. Ive seen pictures posted of trays in the storage compartments but wasnt sure what kind they were. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I put Plano 3700s in my 09 Puma FTD with no problems.

Its almost like the center hump is too wide or something, here is a couple pics so you can see what I mean

Phil is correct. Turn them the other way and stack three length wise in the front thinner section of the compartment. Corky

Seriously Phil, that doesnt make much sense to have them face sideways and slide around?? Here is a pic I saw that made me think this was the way they were supposed to go …..its only at the top that they wont fit they fit the bottom just fine!. Phil, have you ever noticed anything like this before? I called Ivan for Denny and he said No Problem just call tomorrow, but it does seem weird. As you guys know Im a great Boat Salesman but Definitely not a fishermanHopefully you guys can help figure this out for Denny……

That area was not intended for Planos, though for flat sitting lead and tungsten, hook boxes flat and offering storage for other items. Lately more Plano boxes are being used and it has cropped up. We defintely hear you.

I have the exact same problem and question. It is really the only negative I have for my new Puma FTD. What kind of boxes is the dude using where they look like they fit so nice?
