Some hole shot and it gets eaten by a larger propeller. Horsepower will give better midrange mileage as the engine works easier at the same MPH. As for midrange lift, those are very similar. On top end you generally gain 3 to 5 and maybe 6 MPH loaded.
Price difference is about $2500. I ordered the boat with quote but since then dealer called me to tell me mercury is increasing prices by 8%
We both agreed that when you order something with quote a company (mercury) shouldn’t be able to increase cost but it is what it is. Now a 250 cost the same as a 300 when I ordered
I figured a 300 would give me a better hole shot and just a little more umph all around. Now I’m wondering It’s sorta relative cause cost is so high what’s a little more ..
Manufacturers pricing is open to increase when pricing needs and changes. You can’t expect a company to not increase prices to stay profitable in this inflationary economy. Mercury announced to many that there was to be a price increase in February and released it in written form early March, for May 15th activation on all shipments. Some Parts increases were higher than this. Just like lumber when it went up, we are all facing it
