The Puma deck is probably a narrower deck than the R and some other brands. Though it is designed for fishing. The Jaguar has a massive deck, and it is almost too wide for those serious anglers, though it is a luxury rig and not the all out tournament warrior. The R has a forward width deck, though when flipping it can be a little outwards and your jig trailer will tip the deck on the trolling motor. Your partner will no notice this as they will be outwards on the boat deck, whereas you will be restricted to the trolling motor pedal placement. This situation has also been noticed by other R anglers when fishing from Andy Morgans rig, as Andy has mentioned also. They do not loose jig trailers and were more comfortable at the bow position. Andy has to finish in those other brands when he makes a cut, and has noticed those differences within those day to day moves on the same fishing conditions. The Puma front mount of the foot pedal has those benefits in the nose placement. The forward foot recess allows you to roll cast and miss the trolling motor head. When slipping into the back of a creek channel, you can fish both sides without having to move positions if you are on the bow. Thus not being tied to one side and making a decision to fish the opposing side on the way out, after you have possibly spooked the fish. If the deck were 88″+ wide, would that make it easier to fish from, no it would not. Though it would seem more open and the room may not be used. Nor would it be efficient. BCB
