I have a 2004 Cougar Ftd, and the bilge pump switch doesnt work all of the time. All of the other switches work on the panel. Is there a fuse to change or another way to fix it.

Describe “doesnt work”. The panel lights and the pump doesnt come on or the panel doesnt light when you press the button. If the panel doesnt light when you press the button then it is a panel issue if it lights and the pump doesnt work then it could be either a wiring or pump issue. Judd Lasiter

Sometimes the panel will light up and the pump will come on. It seems the light above the switch is not as bright as the others. Sometimes you have to push the button a few times. If I can get the button pushed the right way, the pump will come on.Jared Smith

Sounds like it is in the panel…Contact your dealer or service 870-481-5135 or [email protected] and they will tell you the best way to handle this one. JL

I have a 04 Cougar too. Sometimes the bilge pumps will not work ( not too often though ) What fixes it is unplug the big connector to the dash panel, and plug it back it. Works perfect after that. Not sure why, but try it.

If you take the connector off, you might try spraying with electrical contact spray cleaner. That stuff is good for spraying around the trailer light connector plug contacts too.

Thanks BasserTX, though we think it could be something else. Not sure on the model, though if the pumps are not activating, it could be other issues. There are no breakers outside most units for individual items. The main breaker can cause issues from corrosion also.
