Hi -Im thinking about installing a charger inlet on my boat. I have a couple of questions I was hoping some of you could answer. I have a three bank charger – and a single bank charger. Is it possible to wire both chargers into the same inlet? If not – how is this done? Also – where is the inlet typically installed? The very back… back side?Thanks,Matt

BCB does not install power ports for easy plug in. The reason is the requirement to vent gasses from the bilge area that are both caustic and contained are explosive in nature. Requiring users to open the rear hatch forces them to think about the cord and the ability to vent the area.

BCB is right but the previous owner of my boat and I have run the two battery charge plugs through the left rear vent/vent hose. I have a three what plug for extension cord I plug into. Also keep a little piece of wood with the three way plug to remind me to put it in the rear compartment lid. It keeps lid open about 3″ and provide ventilation while not opening lid enough to cause light to go on. Works pretty well.

I have 2 chargers connected to an extension cord that is shortened and then connected to my recessed exterior mounted charging plug. I installed it on the starboard rear deck right below the gas fill lid. I always leave my rear hatch open while in the garage!
