I bought my first Bass Cat 3 years ago. I never saw a Bass Cat, let alone rode in one, until I saw my own and bought it. I bought purely on the testimonials of this board and others. I have noticed a few others mention on here lately that they did the same. How many of you did this?
I only rode in a puma before I bought my sabre but never really knew much about basscat.Dont regret it one bit I love my boat.
I got my first Cat 16 yrs. ago. My tourney rig was an R boat and I drove a friends Cat in the rough water at LOZ. I bought a gently used one as my personal boat for practice and general fishing. I am not tourney fishing now and am looking for my next Bass Cat.
I had zero knowledge of this board and very limited knowledge of BassCat.I too test drove several brands on the rough waters of LOZ.I went to a marina at LOZ to buy a Charger or maybe a big a Ranger. To be fair I took out a big Champion also. With much skeptism, I tried the PII on my wifes request. She thought it was pretty.Long story short – I bought it on the spot. I rode with a guy who had no idea how to drive a bass boat in anything resembling rough water. Despite his (lack of) driving skills, the ride was great. I did some checking into the company and was sold. This board sells a lot of boats.Bill Spence St. Albans, VT billspence@yahoo.com http://www.twinstatebassin.com Bass Cat Boats http://www.basscat.com Vexilar Marine Electronics http://www.vexilar.com
I saw one once years ago as a teenager at a local lake in Kansas City. I knew that some day I would get back into fishing (transition from only slalom course waterskiing for 20+ years). I never rode in, drove, or saw a cat up close. I found my new 07 Sabre online (Texas) and bought it from Mike Lott at Big D. I love this boat-what a thrill to drive and just look at. John S.
I rode in a PIII around 2006 and the way the boat just swooshed over waves and how on top of the water it rode, I was sold!!!! It was a completely different riding boat then my 18 ft. R boat. Night and day difference! I lurked on this website for many years after that and then waited a few years to buy the Cougar! I cant believe it took me so long to figure out what I was missing! I am no different, my first glass boat was the most popular boat on the market in 2000, did not research my purchase and if I would have, it would have NOT been the R boat. They are just very different boats! The R boat was a good boat, but nothing compared to BCB, just my opinion!
WJH, like you I had never seen a Bass Cat in person. I went by everything I read on the this board along with some other boards. I fished as a non-boater for several years and got to ride in many different brands boats, except for a Bass Cat. Ive had my boat for a little over a year now and I could not be happier with my purchase. Everything I read and heard about these boats is true.
Never saw my used 04 p4 that came from California until the guys from BCB were nice enough to put it in my driveway….How about that one! Service that is beyond remarkable. Boats that are the sameC.O.D. Jr. III
I guess Im lucky to have been born and raised in the Mtn Home area … when I was 17 I bought my first Bass Cat, a Phelix, then went to a Margay II and caught more fish in those 2 boats than all others Ive owned. Sure wish I could own a newer Bass Cat or order a brand new one but until then, Ill keep trying to win one in the OI with my old Pantera
