I was wondering if you have ever considering using some sort of carpet trim piece around the carpet edges around the fender? Myself and others have to keep re-gluing the carpet along these areas and would like to see if there is an alternative solution.

Do you think you back the trailer too far when loading so the edge of hull hits the top of carpet to pull it down?

Nope, definitely not the case……..its not terribly bad but the edges do start coming unglued which then causes the carpet to unravel/fray. I used marine Goop last time and its holding strong. Its not a big deal but a pepeave of mine because I dont like the ascetics of how the carpet looks where it meets the top of the fender.

We have not had a major issue with this and any trim piece would require fasteners which could easily mark the boat while loading. We really dont see this as much as we do power washer abuse on that carpet edge.

Is there a recommended glue if needed or is marine goop OK?

We like DAP if the carpet has not absorbed an oil base, which we often find to be the case.

waknbass15-Ive had the same issue you speak of.I purchased a 2006 P4 in August of 2012, drivers side carpet on the front end of the fender had about a 6 inch section near the top that was unglued and unraveling.I used a bit of DAP contact glue, the type used on formica to hold down and trimmed the unraveling pieces.

DAP WELDWOOD OR WOOD WELD CONTACT CEMENTI have never had one of those pieces come loose in 8-9 Cats
