Topic: Question for BCB: Fuel Tank Lines

BCB,Ive recently changed out my fuel lines from the tank selector switch all the way to the motor with the new Mercury/Quicksilver EPA-approved fuel lines and bulb. I have a 1995 PII and in looking at the fuel lines going from the tank selector to the two tanks, the fuel lines are from MPI Marine and are black with orange lettering (“MPI Marine SAE J1527 USCG Type A1 3/8” for the tank-to-switch and “MPI Marine SAE J1527 USCG Type A2 5/8” for the tank to fill neck). Do you advise changing these lines with EPA approved lines or are they OK? If they should be replaced, do you have recommendations? Those are A1 lines which have been ethanol resistant going way back to your 1995 model or for 20 or so years. Imagine how much money that saved BCB owners with recent ethanol issues. A1 is the highest rating for ethanol resistant and low permeation lines. Same rating exists today. One of those little things that no one else did in the 1990s and no one really appreciated or gave credit for the extra costs in 95. Bravo BCB, Bravo!Cant tell you how great of a boat my PII has been. 17 yrs old and still solid as a rock. Ive had it for the past 13 yrs. BCB can you tell me exactly what lines you refer to on a 2008 250 Optimax Pro XS on a Cougar when you state they should be grey with blue lettering? Not red? Mine are black with a grey like lettering on the tank and to the fuel filter..they may have a blue tint to the lettering but it is real faint?Thanks
