Topic: Question for BCB, Power Pole Alternative??

I was wondering if someone from BCB could check out this site that offers an alternative to the PowerPole. It looks pretty sweet but not really sure if the brackets would/could do damage to the glass over a period of time. I wish that they had come out with a version with a stainless steel plate that would install underneath of the trolling motor bracket as I know this area of the gunnel has beeen reinforced. We are aware of the spike systems and they work well for the money invested. The Power Pole should have some competition developing in the next several months. We would hope by Miami show. Nothing against Power Pole, though they are pricey. BCB

Very efficient looking. BCB, what is your position on mounting the unit as shown on the transom. Do you believe if sealed properly it will hold up over time mounted in that fashion. I could sure use that when bed fishing in the coming months!! Chris Coupel Paulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

Looks like a very affordable alternative to the power pole. I could sure use one fishing Potomac grass mats. I wish they had more pics; Id like to see more of the bow mounted model.

I believe with some 3m 5200 it would be just fine Shap , thats whats on the jack plate bolts of my 14 year old Sabre and transom is solid as a rock !!!

My main concern with the whole mounting system is… Could it damage my boat, mainly the bow mount as I know the port side of the gunnel is reinforced where the trolling motor is mounted, What about the starboard side? Is there reinfocement there?? I certainly would hate to have the mounting bracket rip a nice hole in all that pretty gelcoat and glass when one of the 40 pleasure boaters go ripping by me creating a monster wake
