Question on boat motor hours

I wanted to get some thoughts on the amount of hours that are reasonable for boat motors. Maybe how many per year, or overall is 500 a lot, or 1000, etc. I do know that at lot depends on the motor and the service of the motor, but I thought with everyones ideas it would help. Thanks a lot for any input or thoughts.

Ive seen them with 1200+ hrs. and still running good. Maybe not as strong, but still pulling skiers.

75-100 hrs. normal usage for a year. Ive seen some Optis with as many as 2500 hrs.

These are good replies above. We are not sure why you are asking, though we get more cautious above 1,200 to 1,400 ourselves and have seen many more on one. They put a few thousand hours on theme park motors, like those at Disney.

Thanks a lot. I just was not very knowledgeable on engines and have had two boats in the past and never really thought about (or knew) how many hours they may have had. Thanks again
