Looking at buying one, just curious in the performance of this setup. How is the holeshot and im guessing top end would be low 70s correct? Just worried if there is a big performance hit with the 225 vs the 250 holeshot

By the way coming from an 07 P2 so how would it compare ride and speedwise, thanks. Have never rode in a puma before.

Youre right about it being in the low 70s. Hole shot isnt much difference between the 225 and 250. I didnt have a Puma, but I did have a CougarFTD with a 225 Opti, then had another Cougar after that with a 250. The ride will probably be better in rough water than the PII and the speed will be a little better as well.

Thanks for the reply billus, that was quick if anyone else has any experiece with this type of setup please chime in as i will have to make a decision pretty quick before the boat gets listed it is a extremly well kept boat with less than 100 hours and will sell fast. Any ride difference with the tanks being under the seats vs the back?

top end speed very similar to your P2. Though some 225s are stronger than others. Hole shot no different. It either gets out of the hole in a few seconds or it takes for ever. Ride in the bigger boat will be much better! Difference with 250 is top end speed only.

Is it prop that makes it take forever, it has a hydro jackplate. if hole shot is bad that could be fixed correct?

I run a puma with 225 dual poles, 4 batt setup and see no difference in hole shot between the 250s. Top end is about 73 and have seen better on a good day. Overall very pleased with the 225 and it will hang with most other brands and their 250s

I have the exact same boat in question. With the 24 Fury I have it gets out of the hole like a rocket. Best I have had speed wist was just shy of 71 fully loaded with a buddy and I am also an inexperienced driver. I have been in FTD with 250s and its not really different at all other than top end. I have no regrets buying mine.

Thanks for all the replies fellas, seller still not 100% sure hes going to sell it yet gonna let me know for sure next week. Only been afew days without my P2 and its killin me. Will never sell a boat before i buy another again.
