Questions about my new P2

I just got my new boat in and took it out to break in today. I had two problems and was wondering if anyone can help. First the trolling motor seems to have a loose connection. I had to wiggle the harness to make it go. Does anyone know how I would fix this? Second is when I was driving, towards the end of the break in, I slowed and water rushed out of the drain in the floor onto the carpet. I looked in the back and there was about 6 inches of water in th compartment. I turned on the bilge and pumped it out, but I have no idea how it got in. I hadnt taken any water over the transom. Any thoughts?

That could be a loose fitting and sometimes in rigging the pumps get cracked by feet in the bilge. The front connection is probably a loose wire under a screw in either the trolling motor or the plug.

Another thing, the trolling motor mount only has 2 screws attaching it to the boat. My previous Pantera Classic with the same trolling motor had 6. Is this standard?

Is this standard?No thats NOT standard…. Is this boat brand new or new to you? I;m assuming new you said youre breaking in the engine. If new take it back to your dealer to have the problems fixed. I personally wouldnt run the trolling motor it can and will cause damage to the existing holes that are being used it will oval them out.

Yes, brand new. I ordered in Dec. picked up last week and was able to get it on the water today. I figured the water problem out. There are valves coming out of the livewell that were open and when the pulps run it was pumping water into the back area. I closed the valves…problem solved. But Im concerned about the trolling by motor. Im trusting that Basscat knows what they are doing, but the mounting doesnt look right.

There are 4 bolts holding it and if it was BCB mounted you will have a plastic 1/2 spacer under each end where the bolts go through.

It was BCB mounted. I see the spacers under the mount. One in front and one in back, but looking down onto the mount I only see two screw heads.

Should be two in line with each of the spacers.

This is pretty frustrating. When I picked my boat up, the touchpad didnt work. I had to make another trip back to the dealership to have this replaced. Now, I find the trolling motor isnt mounted properly and there is a loose connection in the wiring somewhere. I would like to think greater care is taken during building and assembly. I shouldnt have to go over everything with a fine toothed comb and find mistakes and go have them fixed on a brand new boat!
