Questions about repainting a trailer mostly small touch ups.

Got a small weld that cracked on my trailer. Gonna grind it out and have it Welded by a local shop. The trailer paint that you can get from basscat can it be put on with a brush or a roller and still look fairly decent? Also what type or brand of clear coat or gatorhyde is best to put for a topcoat? Its a small area thats not real noticeable but if the paint comes out pretty good I may try to touch up a few other areas.

It wont flow well without the spray. You can however have it loaded into a spray can by your local PPG paint supplier. BCB

Your PPG dealer would probably load their own paint matching yours.BCB

I am going to ask a really dumb question here. What is ppg?And I assume I can use a sander to remove all the paint from my fenders since the paint is faded and cracked all to hell and all the non-skid pads are falling off, then like you said, get the paint from you all and have my local ppg put it in cans.Is it really that easy or are the fenders gelcoat? If so, do I sand them down and then order gelcoat from parts?Thanks

Your fenders are Gelcoat and its not that easy. They can be clear coated or painted by a local paint and body shop. Often just a clear coat revitalizes the bad fenders. Those less than bad we can usually clean up with light sanding (1500 wet), then polish and wax.

Ill take some pictures close up this weekend and send them to parts for recomendations. They are pretty faded and the spidering looks deep. I am thinking about making an appointment this fall and driving it to the factory to put new bunks on since shipping is like 250 bucks. Might have to see if you all can bring the fenders back to life also. Figure I can drive to the factory and make a fishing trip out of it while I am there.
