I would like to say a special “Thanks” to Rick, Stewart, and Pat at BCB for helping me out last week. Back in February of this year I met Rick at a tourney and he told me “If you ever need anything, holler at me…”. Well, last week I was in a crunch to get some work done on my boat and because I had several end of the year tournaments stacked right on top of each other, I had very little time available to get my boat fixed in time. I called and talked to Rick and he came though on his word and got me in and all fixed up ASAP. Then the fun began…. I made it about 5 miles down the road and I lost a wheel bearing on the trailer. I had just filled up the bearing buddies, and thought I was doing the right thing, but I over did it and blew out the back seal. (by the way, on a BCB trailer, you DO NOT need to ad grease throught the bearing buddys that are installed at the factory, they are only on there because they have the best seal made. Instead, you should have your bearings repacked about every 2-3 years.) Anyways, I unhooked the boat and rushed back to the shop and told them what happened. It was 5 minutes after closing time that day, but Rick organized a team of repair men that went and did a quick roadside repair to get the boat back to the shop because the spindle, hub, and everything else was ruined. Keep in mind this was after hours, but they made a deal with me that if I would leave the boat with them, they would build me a new axle, and install it and have me ready to go the next day so I could make it to my tournament on time. To make the long story short, they all worked together as a team and went out of their way to get me fixed up and headed back down the road, faster than any Nascar pit crew could ever think of… Thanks again for the excellent service and help, and for standing by your word. Sinceerely, Travis Fox
We will let all involved know that you commented on their help. We are glad they were able to live up to expectations. Things most always have a way of working out it seems. Also heed the caution on putting grease in those hubs. That comment has been made here often, though some do not understand. We are glad you posted on the seal of the bearing buddy. That is an overlooked purpose. BCB
You know, that is the kind of story that makes many so cherish the Bass Cat name, and should be the kind of story to inspire other companies to match Bass Cats philosophy and service. Bass Cat is certainly a class act in every regard. I have had several conversations with Mr. Pierce and Ivan and found them both to be proud of their product, committed to customer service, and eager to please the customer. That is what all boat manufacturers should be about. Corky
That story does not surprise me in the least. BCB is second to none and go above and beyond. JRLast edited by JRoberts on October 27th, 2008, 3:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.
A great story. Typical BassCat service. Excellent!!!!!
Awesome! As they say….that is how they roll Judd Lasiter
….And Ive said this before—BCB and Rick Pierce wrote the book on what customer service is really all about. In my business career, Ive been involved in a lot of Total Quality Management training, process teams, and the like. Lots of books have been written on the subject, but NO company in America brings it to life and lives it like BCB. This is not extraordinary for BCB—they do it all the time. If CEOs of American companies would take the time to visit a little boat builder just outside of Mt. Home, AR, can you imagine what our economy and our national work ethic would look like???? I cant tell you how many times over the years, in a business situation, Ive stopped to ask myself—“How would Rick Pierce handle this”?? The answer to that question always led me to a good solution. Thanks BCB–you make us proud. Mike Whitten
Great story!! That is exactly while I will never own any other brand. Shawn
