Does anyone know of a boat antenna that gets better reception than the ones that come on the boats?

boats are on the water and do not have a ground plane like a vehicle on land.

Just looking for better reception out here in the sticks so I can listen to the ball games while fishing.

It is a line of sight problem, and unfortunately where we fish is in the valleys where the signals just do not reach real well, and unless the radio station has a very tall tower mounted on a very high hill the signals just do not reach us well on the water. Same problem with cell phones on most lakes and rivers.

Dr. JagMy reception gets poor when i run my HDS units I havent really chased it down but My structure scan module is located in the starboard side locker and the wires are all run up under the console and near where the antenna is located seems to cause some interference.Mike
